Center For Hair Transplantation

The Procedure

Art & Science

Successful, natural-looking hair transplantation is as much an art as it is a science, requiring a surgeon’s skill as well as an artistic eye.

You owe it to yourself to investigate a physician’s credentials before choosing your hair transplant surgeon, because technique and quality can vary greatly from one physician to the next. Look for a surgeon who is board certified by the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS). The ABHRS grants board certification to physicians who meet the highest standards (skill, knowledge and aesthetic judgment) in the field of hair transplantation. Presently there are less than 200 ABHRS board certified physicians worldwide.

Dr. Cohen was the first ABHRS board certified physician in the State of Connecticut.

Your surgeon should also be a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), an organization dedicated to maintaining high standards in this field.  Dr. Cohen has been active in this organization since its inception, lecturing at annual meetings as well as charing workshops and committees.

As a prospective hair transplantation candidate, it is essential that you choose a qualified physician who specializes in hair replacement surgery. Doctor Cohen performs surgery in his office everyday and has personally performed thousands of procedures. Today’s microsurgical techniques demand an even greater skill than ever before and also require a highly trained staff.
